Own Celeb’s Historic Home in Palm Springs for < $1.5M!

Check out our first Cribline Special Vacation Edition from Palm Springs of 2018. This three (3) bedroom, three-and-a half (3.5) bathroom home, located at 244 West Camino Buena Vista, at the base of the San Jacinto mountains, belonged to the famous actor Robert Stack!

In the 1950s, the Untouchables and Unsolved Mysteries star bought this Spanish hacienda for his mother. Flash forward to present, after a 16-month renovation, this stunning architecturally significant piece of history has been re-imagined as a Modern Moroccan desert gem without sacrificing its historical character.

In this stunning space, high-end materials like natural stone tile, restored brickwork, and gorgeous hardwoods belnd together to form rich layers of cohesive patters. The airy floor plan includes a wing with three (3) bedrooms (all w/ private en-suites) that adjoins the public living quarters via a soaring glass-walled gallery. The open-concept great room features a kitchen with high-end appliances (Sub Zero fridge/wine fridge, six-burner Thermador range, KitchenAid dishwasher, you get it…. quartz countertop with waterfall edge that clads a more than 12-foot island & a wall of doors that lead to a Moroccan-tiled deck. The backyard has outdoor living room & dramatic fireplace.

There is an open house right now, from 12PM-3PM PST. Check it out if you’re in the area! It’s just on the market for $1,495,000. See how much it costs in the Cribline math analysis below:

Cribline Math Analysis:

With 20 percent down on $1,495,000 of $299,000, the mortgage amount would be $1,196,000.  At an estimated 4.5 percent interest rate fixed for 30 years the gross payment would be about $6,500 per month. If you were to rent out the home seasonally for a net $1,500 per month (this is a very conservative estimate of what you could bring in), that would reduce the gross payment to $5,000 per month.  After tax deductions, the net payment would be about $4,200 per month. Not bad for celebrity digs!

Great find Robert Stack and Happy House Hunting in Palm Springs!
